License Hair Stylist, Braiders & Barber (All Preferred but looking to fill in all positions)

Salon Hours:

Hours of Operation are not limited to the set hours if the client’s work has not been finished and paid for. If the work is not done and the salon hours close at 6 pm that does not mean that the stylist should stop working. all work must be done.

• Tuesday through Friday 9 am-6 pm
• Saturday 8am – 3pm

We are looking for creative candidates with an eye for design for the position of hairstylist. Hairstylist duties include consulting clients on hair styling options, describing the benefits of different hair care products, persuading clients to buy their retail products, and staying updated on the latest hair trends and styling methods.

Additionally, hairstylists need to be expert “people persons” to attract and retain long-term customers. This requires good interpersonal and conversational skills.

Hair Stylist Responsibilities:

• Consulting with clients on stylistic options for their hair.
• Listening to clients’ needs to determine their preferences.
• Describing different hair care products and their benefits.
• Shampooing, cutting, coloring, and highlighting hair.
• Performing scalp treatments.
• Acting as salespersons to sell clients hair care retail products.
• Building a personal relationship with clients to ensure return visits.
• Adhering to salon safety and cleanliness standards.
• Managing bookings and welcoming clients into the store.
• Keeping updated on hairstyle trends and styling methods.

Hair Stylist Requirements:

• Licensing from a cosmetology school.
• Previous experience as a hair stylist or colorist.
• A wide pallet of styling and coloring techniques.
• Proficiency with hot irons, curlers, and blow-dryers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Good verbal communication.
• Physical stamina.
• Creative mindset and a good eye for design.

Hair braiders have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

• Determining the cost of each style based on the complexity of the braid pattern
• Following established sanitation guidelines to protect clients from infection
• Recommending hair care products to clients based on their hair type
• Cleaning and maintaining tools used in braiding, including combs and brushes
• Communicating with clients about desired hairstyles and adding their input as needed to create a custom style
• Demonstrating how to style a new haircut or braid pattern
• Communicating with other hair stylists to schedule appointments for clients
• Maintaining client records such as contact information, preferred styles and services, appointment schedules, and payment history
• Following federal and state regulations regarding cosmetology and sanitation

Requirements

We are looking to hire a dedicated barber to consult with clients and ensure that all their hair-related needs are taken care of. The barber’s responsibilities include cutting, trimming, styling, and coloring clients’ hair according to their instructions, fitting and grooming hairpieces, and billing clients. You should also be able to provide hairstyle suggestions and haircare advice to clients.

To be successful as a barber, you should be able to provide quality facial hair grooming services to clients. Ultimately, a top-notch barber should keep abreast of new and emerging hairstyles and trends.

Barber Responsibilities:

• Welcoming clients and consulting with them on their desired hairstyles.
• Cutting and trimming hair according to clients’ instructions.
• Styling hair using chemical solutions and styling tools.
• Shaving, trimming and shaping clients’ beards and mustaches.
• Washing and conditioning clients’ hair.
• Providing hair treatments and coloring.
• Ensuring that combs, scissors, razors, and other instruments are cleaned and sanitized after each use.
• Providing face, scalp, and neck massages.
• Providing hairstyle suggestions to clients.

Barber Requirements:

• State barber’s license.
• Sound knowledge of current hairstyles and trends.
• The ability to follow instructions.
• The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.

Salon Expectations

• Punctuality – the stylist/Barber should be present the says they are scheduled to be in the salon unless it is communicated otherwise. For instance, if the schedule is set for working 3 days a week 9-5 you must fulfill that schedule.
• Looking for FULL-TIME Stylists/Braiders/Barbers
• Clean and neatness- Everyone is responsible for cleaning after themselves and workstations before leaving the salon
• Clients- I provide a book where the stylists/Braiders/barbers jot down their appointments of the week and month. The worker is responsible for following up with their own appointments, making, and following up with them if anything changes. The book is to stay in the Salon at all times.
• Strong Work Ethic is highly encouraged and recommended to work here
• Everyone will fill out an independent 1099 w9 form and you are responsible for filing your own taxes
• Percentage rates are an average of 60-40 however, if you have a strong following of 5-7+ clients a day or week it can be negotiated with the owner ex:65-35
• Paid weekly -> Workdays Tuesday – Saturday payday is Saturday and is in a form of check tips will be all in cash

• MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT!
